hmm.. good point. I've adjusted it so you can start a 'node' and borrow
books without having any listed in your collection.

ps: what do people think about http://dlp.theps.net/dev/?

for the time being shall I make that the main dlp site? I was unsure
about some of the updates but it does seem to work.

of course, I know the deeper problems and wishes we have for the dlp
are still some way off - and will be part of some other software
development stuff (we'll hear whether we've got some money for a related
software development project that should feed into it in the next week
or so) - but for the time being maybe little tweaks like this will keep
the dlp useful to us.

more little suggestions? I find these easier to do than big requests.
