Hi Ellie,
hope you had a good bookfair :)
we had a long talk that turned very rambly towards the end, so it's hard to
summarise.
basically, we discussed doning a bike ride on the 27th Dec, to visit lots of
the local library nodes around london, see some of the people in our area.
in terms of library software development, a few suggestions were made, but
since it's taking so long to get any changes done, we're still waiting on the
major backlog..
The suggestions were to have a lending system that doesn't require people to
register with the library system, but simply let's you mark a book as 'out'.
Currently the system requires that they are also registered as a node, which
requires filling in address details - which is silly as some people might not
want or be able to for various reasons.
More proposals were made for visualisation tools.
We also talked a bit about more general context of free libraries, how it
relates to other free publishing / distribution models.
Actually I'm having trouble remembering it all... Sorry. I'll keep minutes next
time. That's the probelm with fun meetings - nobody wants to take minutes!
