In response to Alessandro, I have been considering some of the points raised by Jo Walsh in http://dlpdev.theps.net/DlpGraphModels?v=py4
What i am wondering is whetehr we need to rethink our whole approach. I am not very techy, but I am into the conceptual side of things, and I have been wondering about how all this could work in relationship to the semantic web and the ontologies coming through.
We should also note that W3C has left till 19th January to respond to their document about Web ontology languages. Check out http://www.w3.org/TR/webont-req/
Objectives:
O2. Default property values
The language should support the specification of default values for properties. Such values could be used to make inferences about typical members of classes. However, true default values (such as those used in defeasible inheritance reasoning) are nonmonotonic, which can be problematic on the Web where new information is constantly being discovered or added. Furthermore, there is no commonly accepted method for dealing with defaults. An alternative is for the language specification to recommend to users how they can create their own default mechanisms.
O8. View mechanism
The language should support the ability to create ontology views, in which subsets of an ontology can be specified or concepts can be assigned alternate names. This is particularly useful in developing multicultural versions of an ontology. Note that this requirement may be satisfied by having multiple ontologies and using an ontology mapping mechanism.
I think we should support the idea of users developing their own defaults, which by implication would lead to the creation of seperate "views". However, the issue here rests on something running deeper than having alternative names assigned to concepts, as it is more about how networks of concepts often have incongruent relationships. If we are to have multi-cultural versions of an ontology, then variety at a deeper level deeper would be necessary. Any other thoughts on this.
Hi.
I'm the president of a Linux User Group, and we want to create a
distributed library project. We are very interested in your project, but
we cannot use perl into our hosting.
So I would ask to you if there's a possibility to convert perl modules
into php, and if anyone have already done that (also in alfa or beta
stage).
Drupal has some similar way to update time (like remainder), and they've
solved with php and a crontab line that update the time and looks for
time expiration.
Thanks in advance, best regards.
