[dlpdev] dlp: users and nodes?

In reality what happens is I lend my books to people who (for whatever
reason) have not set up a dlp node.
This may be variously because:
*they don't use computers or the internet
*they don't know about the dlp
*they haven't got round to it yet
*they don't want to lend their books for some reason
I still want to lend these people books!
Could we extend the "keeping track of your stuff" functionality on the
dlp by making it easy to flag informal loans on one's own account? This
could just be a single text entry field to which I can append the name of
a friend at the time, checking the book out to myself.
Forgive me if there is an easy way to do this that I don't know about.
Cheers
D.
