Greetings Node London - apologies for cross posting.

I am looking for a Sessional lecturer to cover half a 20 credit unit
on the BA (Hons) Digital Media Arts degree at London South Bank
University.

Delivered to second years, the unit "Critical Code" combines 2 hours
per week in the labs (coding) and 2 hours per week in a seminar
(contextual studies).

I am looking for someone to teach the *seminar* component for 12 weeks
(24 hours teaching) from the end of January. Payment will be at the
standard hourly lecturer rate, with an extra 6 hours paid for marking
(30 hours total).

I am really looking for someone with experience of teaching
undergraduates, particularly within the context of widening
participation. Students will need someone supportive in helping them
to develop their research, writing and critical thinking skills within
the seminar sessions.

The unit will broadly cover the emergent field of software studies,
with investigations into software and code as an artistic tool
(generative art and associated practices, materiality of data/code)
and the politics of code/information (copyright, development of open
source, data liberation front etc). There is no set reading list or
lectures so there is great flexibility to develop the weekly sessions
around your own research/practice.

Please send me an email (katrina.sluis at lsbu.ac.uk) outlining why you
are interested in the role and a brief CV by (midnight) Saturday 19th
December.

Many thanks
Katrina
