Dark Fibre is the BFI’s brand new series of bi-monthly events,
celebrating all hybrid media artforms. Hosted by the people behind AV
Social (Ne1co)
Dark Fibre promises an unforgettable launch event,
within the BFI’s long weekend 40th anniversary party
celebrating the first man on the moon.

Join us on Friday 17 July for special AV performances,
themed loosely around the first apollo landing, this week 40 years ago.

The first edition of Dark Fibre will be headlined by the immersive
projections
of Hamburg collective Incite, a laptop AV band performing smack
in the middle of their huge black and white screen.

The performers lineup is completed with Secret Films, sampling cold
war space race footage,
Blinkin Lab, with an original motion graphic production of interfaces
and wormholes,
and a film remix of THX1138, George Lucas' first feature film, by Dan
Tait and Oli Sorenson.

Between the performances will be screening interludes,
including the astronomical animations of Semiconductor.

Watch out, on the same night, the BFI cinema will be screening space
related films,
including (of course) 2001, as well as the world premiere of Howie B's
film entitled "Music For Astronauts and Cosmonauts"
