Overview: The Doctoral Training Centre in Digital Music & Media is looking
for a talented self-starter to manage its PhD programme in Media & Arts
Technology.
The programme has been newly established to transform the way technology is
used in the creative industries by educating a new breed of technology PhDs
who truly understand and can participate in the creative process. Our Centre
is part of a £250M initiative recently announced by EPSRC in a bold new
approach to training PhD students, creating communities of researchers
working on current and future challenges. Further information about the PhD
programme can be found at www.mat.qmul.ac.uk.
The Programme Manager will be responsible to the Centre directorate for
recruiting students and administering their training programme in liaison
with the College and an exciting range of public and private sector
partners, as well as organising marketing and publicity, conferences and
summer schools. The postholder will be closely involved in all aspects of
the Centre's operation.
Experience of managing a centre or specialist unit is essential.
Experience of arts administration and/or supporting teaching and research in
a higher education institution would be desirable.
