processing, have supported the beginning of divers platforms of software and
hardware that allowed musicians to build new instruments and create new
objects, sounds and compositions. Some of these hard and software platforms
became independent companies and all had an tremendous influence on current
DIY. Takeaway is eager to honor that pioneering spirit by dedicating the 2009
Takeaway platform to this genre. We are aware of the current practice where
artist and designers are building DIY apparatus that is used in musical
