Dear nm-xers, you are invited to:

__Open Source Publishing: freeing design from web to print-on-demand__

What we make is often defined by what tools we can use to make it. This
briefing introduces designers and publishers who are moving beyond the
limited set of possibilities offered by commercially available
publishing tools and processes.

This briefing breaks down outmoded boundaries in the publishing process
between writing, designing, and printing: between the page and the 'Net.
Attendees will hear from presenters how dispensing with these boundaries
and using open source technologies opens up creative opportunities for
cross-format experimentation in the future of publishing.

Presenters include Simon Worthington and Laura Oldenbourg of Mute
Magazine (http://metamute.org), Femke Snelting and Harrison of
Constant's (constantvzw.org) Open Source Publishing project
(http://ospublish.constantvzw.org/).
