Hi all,

Another note from my Sunday of nmx-future research.

It turns out that there are some very very smart people working on one
of the main problems that we sought to address with some aspects of
nm-x - social network portability.

Here are the texts I've just read on the issue, listed by degrees of
involvedness:

the problem of social network portability, introduced by a bad solution:

headlines: 'a slap in the facebook':
http://www.wired.com/software/webservices/news/2007/08/open_social_net

between the headlines: 'thoughts on the social graph'
http://bradfitz.com/social-graph-problem/

too much information:
http://microformats.org/wiki/social-network-portability

The 'thoughts on the social graph' text is the most interesting to me.
I've joined a google group that purports to talk about this issue. It's
interesting, and encouraging to think that there are lots of other
people working on this kind of thing - with great potential solutions.

I'm still wondering what to concentrate on.

I'll keep you posted about what I find in that regard.

Cheers,

Saul.
