i agree w mark & julie. yes, great job lisa et al!

my v basic suggestion of the core structuring device of a map (openstreet vs google, yes) was intended visually and organisationally;
as a tool to reveal ("deconceal") the database & network & activity - something we'd all turn to & learn from -
and crucially as something legible to insiders and out, cognescenti & the clapham omnibus, a rendering of our 'space' or forum,
instantaneously legible and enticing, rather than an endlessness of lists.
i find fields of text invites no one.

& yes - integration w other apps to facilitate easy redistribution would be fantastically useful.

my best, alex

ouch! ouch!

No love lost there then ;-&

Looking at the new site I think that everything is probably there
regarding accessibility to information and how to get involved.

I think a wonderful job has been done in creating this new site.

I do agree with Julie that it needs more visual impact.

In respect of the blog/site connecting to the outside world - it may
need to be linked to various web 2.0 platforms so that others can help
in promoting the events (you may of discussed this so I am sorry if I
tred on toes here), Stumbleupon, Facebook, Twitter or and identi.ca an
open source version of Twitter, Reddit, Digg, del.icio.us perhaps more...

I get the point that the db design is important but I'd say equally
important as the visualisation. NODE.London is primarily about media
arts which for me means it's about technology and it's aesthetic, so
it's important that the website is a shining example of a good
looking and functioning tool - it should be really easy to use, and
really easy to understand.

I agree that the map element is crucial to the In Residence season,
and this would be a good way to kick of a brief to who ever designs
it. Which is making me wonder how is the site going to get skinned
and by who? Was there budget for this?

Alex - couldn't see your sketch attached I think it got scrubbed, can
you stick it on the wiki?

Julie
