MINUTES OF NODE.LONDON VISIONING MEETING SUBGROUP SESSION ON SKYPE
26/06/05

On skype: Ruth Catlow, Marc Garrett, Tim Jones

1. There will be a notetaker for the structured workshop part of the day
- to be paid £60-80 from NODE.London bank account (publication income) -
as all LCACE evaluation grant is committed to catering etc.

2. Tim will source a projector from ICA

3. Evaluation report update:
- progress made by Lauren/Luci/Ruth, each who have condensed an
aim-based section of the report into a useful form
- work still needs to be done on tidying each section
- Tim needs to do financial report on the 70K and some quantifiables in
each section of the report
- proposed date for semi-final report formatting: Tue 4th July 10am -
11.45am at HTTP Gallery - all nodeval group members are invited to
attend

4. Discussion of the workshop aspect of the visioning event:
- agreed the following points:
	- after presentation of eval report digest the whole group
should brainstorm ideas for what they think NODE.London should be doing,
as an organisation, in the future
	- all of these suggestions are written up on the wall
	- each participant is given a bunch of stickers to prioritise
the areas that they feel are important for discussion at the workshop
	- we then split into groups according to the number of
priorities to have a structured discussion informed by subheadings which
each group should use as relevant to flesh out their discussion (e.g.
funding, partnerships, etc.)
	- each group should contain at least one 'seasoned' voluntary
organiser who can explain what they know about what NODE.London has done
thus far about a discussion topic (if anything), what their experience
of being a VO working in this area has been like, etc.
	- with this structure we are very honest and open about who in
the room has worked on NODE.London to date in a 'thorough' way; we
recognise and expose the potential hidden elite in the room and we
position existing VOs as people actively seeking
help/dialogue/collaboration with new faces
	- VOs do not necessarily have to chair their groups or be
spokespeople for them
	- following 20-30 min. group discussion and notetaking each
group appoints a spokesperson to feed back to the whole group
	- all participants can then 'migrate' towards discussions that
interest them more for 30 mins followed by final feedback
	- at end@ call for people to become VOs and attend the next
meeting

5. We will have a piece of paper at the start of the event – to take
names and ask people to write what theywant from NODE.London

6. Facilitator for the workshop still needs to be identified - Tim to
contact Rebecca Maguire from LCACE and check her availability (update:
Tim has contacted Rebecca 27/06/05 and she thinks she will be available,
though will need to check her diary)

7. Tim will contact those 'seasoned VOs' a few days before the event who
have indicated attendance to discuss expectations about their role
within the workshop

8. Agreed that a VOs meeting should follow swiftly on from the Visioning
meeting - tentatively scheduled for Mon 17th July @ space @ 7pm - Tim to
check. We're aware that a reformatting of meetings
(location/timing/access etc.) might be a point raised at the workshop -
but we hope attenders will forgive a one off continuation :)
