Dear Person what Speaks
We have been relatively silent during the cold months. But the quietude
belies a flurry of activity.
*Come and see us tomorrow at The People Speak Nerve Centre for our
monthly New Talkaoke Host Try Out Session. We have a number of
interesting people who will be taking control of the hole this month.
Jesse, who first climbed into the table of chat in September, has
joined The People Speak team and is now regularly hosting events for
us.

*On 7th March we will be taking the Talkaoke table to Butterfly Walk
Shopping Centre in Camberwell. That's outside the Morrisons. This event
is themed around community safety but you know Talkaoke! The
conversation could flow in any direction. The fun starts at 12 and will
go on at least until 3pm. There will be balloons!

*We're going to be in the Southwark area again on 15th March when we'll
be performing an Unlecture in Peckham Library. Don't know what an
Unlecture is? Neither do we! At least we don't know what people will be
talking about. It's a new format we've developed, for conferences and
seminars, where we get the audience to deliver their own knowledge to
each other. This is part of The Mobile Conference, an event organised
by Camberwell College of Art as part of the Tate Triennial. The event
starts at 12.30pm and is free, but requires registration.

Over the last couple of months we have uploaded quite a few videos to
our Youtube and Vimeo sites, so it's worth having a look at these,
notably the video we made for Social Innovation Camp.

We've been busy working with the Huddlestone Trust, a centre which
works with disabled young people in Hackney. We've been running some
sessions based on the Unlecture format to get the young people talking.
They've given us quite a few insights into how to improve our systems
of public participation. You'll be able to see the result of this at an
event in a public space somewhere in Hackney next month.
Happy Pancake to those who partake. You know who you are!
