Hi there Julian and all,
Good to hear the first meeting was a success. I couldn't get there, but
hopefully will be OK in future.
The next meeting of Palmylug is 8 October. I would suggest getting on
their mailing list (and maybe adding them to this one). Their web site
is http://www.plug.org.nz
I am sorry I missed the discussion on a wireless network. Being in a
rural location, our best internet connection is satellite, very slow and
expensive, so a wireless system is something I have been keen to know
more about. We are 19.6 km out (in a straight line) and have a direct
line of sight to parts of town.
It is good to see that there is an intention to support linux users in
the area. Not all of us can talk geek and when something goes wrong it
can be very difficult to figure out some of the advice that is found on
forums etc.
